Eish Hade is an amazing sneaker footwear company founded in 2007 by company founder and Creative Director Sifiso Dlamini in Johannesburg, South Africa. It all started with his love for sneakers, from an early age, Sifiso always saved up to buy a sneaker, but the sneaker were always not unique to him or as tailor made as he would have loved them to be. Sifiso decided to take an old pair of sneakers and re-design it in order to have a handmade sneaker – “sneaker couture if you like”. Sifiso decided to buy material and craft his first hand made sneaker, and he realised this provided him with immense comfort and joy, and some bragging rights within his circle of friends. The name Eish Hade comes from kasi slang meaning, if you step on someone's toe by mistake when he or she is wearing a nice brand new shoe, you say Eish Hade (oops, sorry).
In 2008, Sifiso decided to commercialise the idea by employing his unemployed friends to assist in the production and the marketing of the handmade sneaker. From the inception, Sifiso realised that he could assist the unemployed youth by growing the business and hence contributing positively to his community and the country at large while ensuring that Eish Hade customers also enjoys wearing comfortable hand crafted sneakers which every little details has been looked into by the meticulous Eish Hade employees. In 2014, Eish Hade partnered with Better Place Capital to restructure Eish Hade operations and to provide expansion capital.
